Some Guy asked: Lab animals in the United States may face painful and deadly experiments, but they live under some of the best conditions (except pets). Farm animals are greatly mistreated and their treatment is sickening. I could give you 150 reasons why they should care more about farm animals than lab animals.
PETA and UPC and other organizations like that do very little for these animals and alienate those of us who aren’t insane. It seems like lab animals serve a more noble and necissary cause than farm animals do by dying, and there are so many more farm animals that are poorly treated and kept.
It seems like these organizations are out only to destroy things and alienate the general public, otherwise they would serve a more worthy cause like preventing factory farm animal mistreatment.
Why focus all thier attention on something that doesn’t matter as much as other problems facing animals?

Amy T asked:
I am a student at Bel-Rea in CO and in my Lab Animal class we have to write a paper on animal rights vs. animal welfare, and im stuck on trying to find similarities, there are lots of differences but no similarities that i can find, so far all i can come up with is that both groups care about the well-being of the animal, but they have different ways of going about it, any views or opinions or even websites would be helpful, thanks.

Penny A asked: I would like to donate to WSPA. I’ve done my homework and they seem to do a lot of good work. What do you think of this particular charity, and do they ‘get the job done?’
Here is their website. http://www.wspa.org.au/

Aasha asked: Animal rights is the idea that animals have rights like people and should not be used for our purposes (such as draft, wool, meat, milk, eggs, experimentation, companionship, etc.)
Animal welfare is the idea that animals can be used and owned by humans as long as they are treated well.
OR, if you are not firmly in either category, why not?
AND, if you disagree with my generalized descriptions of each group, why?
P.S. I have a dog so obviously I am in the animal welfare category, but I am not “against” anything, just curious about your beliefs :-).

rotcfreak1 asked:
For my class we’re supposed to find two polar (opposite) definitions of animal abuse and animal welfare, so if you could give me your personal definition of each I’d really appreciate it.
Alright, just for a little bit of clarification, I want your personal definitions please. Make them as crazy as you want to, that’s kinda the point, and don’t worry about researching it or anything. Thanks agian.

D asked:
I am starting a non-profit organization to benefit animal welfare, mainly by raising capital to help fund and support local shelters, agencies, and other non-profits struggling to find homes for pets before they have to face euthanasia. =(
Some of my ideas are Paws 4 Life and The Cookie Foundation (after my dog). I want the organization name to be descriptive but also catchy and memorable.
Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
